We’ll make four different varieties including our very own Magic Brownie (called one of the top 20 recipes of all time by Midwest Living magazine), a fudgy brownie, BuenosAires Brownies with dulce de leche caramel, and Pecan Blondies. After tasting all of these brownies you’ll leave feeling magical.

We have so much to teach you about how to bake a great cake! In this class you'll learn three cakes, each requiring a different mixing technique: rich yellow Buttermilk Cake (which we'll use to make pineapple upside-down cake), fluffy white angel food cake, and dark intense flourless chocolate truffle cake. We'll talk about choosing great ingredients and helpful tips for baking, plus you'll get hands-on practice mixing your cake batters. These cakes will outshine the box mix versions any day. Sail ashore and conquer the mysterious and rich world of Danish dough. You will learn the techniques for laminating rich dough with butter,make your own dough in class, and create hand-shaped Danish (almond-filled bear claws, pinwheels, and pockets filled with cream cheese or fruit), each surrounded by the rich tender flaky dough that makes a good Danish. Oh so delicious!

A great class for beginning bakers. Learn the keys to flaky and tender scones, such as how to properly cut the butter into the flour. You’ll make three varieties of Bakehouse buttery scones—sweet crystallized ginger, savory cheddar herb, and flavorful Mother scones, made with freshly milled organic einkorn, which is known as "the mother of all wheat." In this class, we will teach you to bake your own rich and soft challah bread from scratch. You’ll create a traditional six-stranded braid and a turban shape studded with rum-soaked raisins. We'll demonstrate a seeded Moroccan challah bread braid, too. These gorgeous golden loaves, fresh from the oven, will be tough to resist on the car ride home. You've been warned.

In the late 1800s Hungary enjoyed a coffeehouse culture of delicious fancy tortes and great coffee. Philosophers, artists, musicians and politicians gathered in coffeehouses to share ideas and camaraderie while eating cake! We’ll teach you to make oneof the classics.

Together, we'll make Esterházy Torta, an elegant dessert that could end up being your hallmark.It’s made up of thin, soft layers of toasted walnut cake, filled with a luscious Swiss vanilla and toasted walnut buttercream, and topped with a white and dark chocolate poured fondant glaze in a distinctive design resembling the traditional French Napoleon pastry.It’s a classic sold at all traditional Hungarian bakeries. Brownies are easy, even without the box! You'll learn how to make really great brownies with really great ingredients. The family works on a recipe together and you'll take home what you made in class!

BAKE! up some memories with your kids! Spend quality time in our teaching kitchen making something delicious together. Then we'll clean up the mess while you head home to enjoy what you made. These are modified versions of our classes—still hands-on, same great recipes, just scaled back a bit for younger students. Family groups work on each recipe together and take home what they made in class.

Family groups are:

one adult two children (ages 7 to 13)
or two adults and one child (age 7 to 13)

There is a minimum of two and a maximum of three people per family group.

If you’re looking to take your cupcake baking to the next level, this is the class for you. We’ll bake, fill, and frost plenty of lovely little cupcakes, and we’ll teach you some tips and tricks along the way. To start, we’ll bake up our buttermilk cupcakes, then we’ll make tangy lemon curd to fill them with. We’ll dress up the tops with light, airy Swiss buttercream. These cupcakes really are next-level!
