Chef Craig Stoll from Delfina and Tamchop Farm heirloom tomatoes.

The Roadhouse is excited to bring San Francisco’s Mission District to Ann Arbor on August 20th with James Beard Award winner Craig Stoll from Delfina! The famed chef of one of the Bay area’s hottest Italian restaurants will create dishes unlike anything you’ve ever tasted using heirloom tomatoes from Tamchop Farm in Dexter.

Michael Bauer, the San Francisco Chronicle food critic, says “Stoll cooks as if he’s in Italy.” He does indeed treat his cooking as if the Mission District is another region of Italy, using Bay Area ingredients. His food reflects the fresh, artisanal essence of the district as well as Tuscany.

Ari’s life-partner and operator of Tamchop Farm, Tammie Gilfoyle, was working in the Mission District when Ari met her—right next to Delfina. Her passion for treasures harvested from the soil was inspired by her parents, who taught her about the integrity of every seed planted. She has also brought an artisanal spirit from San Francisco to Ann Arbor, and we can’t wait to taste her tomatoes in Craig’s vibrant dishes.

Tammie says “There are layers to this iteration of my life as a farmer, as a tomato-evangelist. Food is about more than how it nourishes us. It’s about the utter joy of watching a 10-foot tall tomato plant emerge from a seed that I started. And what's more, feeding you with it."

Join us as we savor a food experience from the heart of the Mission District to Michigan, and from seed to your plate. You do not want to miss Ann Arbor’s favorite Roadhouse annual event.
