We guide you through a comprehensive education in baking techniques in a fun, exciting, relaxed and always hands-on classroom full of good humor and expert instruction. A dinner to honor a legend Ari would love to share a meal with.

On June 26th, we will honor the life and work of anarchist Emma Goldman 150 years after her birth. This special birthday dinner will benefit the University of Michigan Library and the Joseph A. Labadie Collection. The following morning, the Library is hosting an Emma Goldman symposium, at which Ari will be one of the speakers. Emma has had a huge impact on how Zingerman’s operates, and we cannot wait to share her story with you at this dinner.

Hot diggity dog, it’s the Sundae Social! Featuring a Sundae bar & Hot Dog bar! You double-dog-dared us to host more of these events, so by popular demand, we’ve got four lined up for you save-the-dates! Our Next Door sweet treat experts will help you make a custom-designed sundae featuring gelato from Zingerman’s Creamery and fabulous toppings like house-made chocolate syrup, cookie crumbles from Zingerman’s Bakehouse, or peanut brittle from Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory. Our kids area and patio will be open and will have extra special fun activities to add to the party festivities. The fun will also include fun activities for kids of all ages. PLUS, relish the chance to deck out your dog with condiments such as: diced onions, dill relish, spicy mustard, The Brinery sauerkraut, crushed potato chips, bacon and more!

She'll talk about what makes each style unique and provide samples of each, share tips for building a well-rounded cheese board, and give some tips on the basics of pairing cheese with beer & wine. Hop on the tahini train! We’ve been experimenting in the kitchen with the latest culinary craze, tahini (rich sesame paste). And we’re using a particularly great organic tahini we sourced from Turkey. In this class you’ll bake tahini butter cookies, tahini banana bread made with Michigan wheat flour and black sesame seeds, and tahini and almond filled croissants with a carob drizzle. (Due to time constraints, we will provide you with already baked croissants to fill.) They'll add excitement and flavor to your baker's recipe box.

You can make your own fresh pasta at home! We’ll teach you two classic doughs, two sauces, and some traditional shaping techniques. Learn these versatile recipes for Southern Italian semolina pasta and Northern Italian egg pasta, as well as classic marinara sauce. We'll also demonstrate making a fresh pesto sauce with fresh basil and Parmigiano Reggiano®. You’ll get hands-on practice with various pasta rolling and shaping techniques. These can be the inspiration for all the pasta creations you can dream up at home.

We’ll also demonstrate both rye pasta andMarinara sauce, which we’ll send you home to top all the pasta you make in class.
