Hop on the tahini train! We’ve been experimenting in the kitchen with the latest culinary craze, tahini (rich sesame paste). And we’re using a particularly great organic tahini we sourced from Turkey. In this class you’ll bake tahini butter cookies, tahini banana bread made with Michigan wheat flour and black sesame seeds, and tahini and almond filled croissants with a carob drizzle. (Due to time constraints, we will provide you with already baked croissants to fill.) They'll add excitement and flavor to your baker's recipe box.

Our BAKE! principal, Sara, is really passionate about baking bread and is always on a mission to create even more really great tasting whole grain breads for our repertoire and yours. In this class, you’ll bake a multigrain boule made with whole wheat, farina and oats, a quinoa-and-flax-seed sandwich loaf, and kamut-and-fig bread. It will great hands-on practice with bread techniques including creating a "soaker" with your grains and working with yeasted doughs. Not to mention the satisfaction of making your own healthy loaves with great texture and full flavor. Eat well and feel well!

Join us to make two of our Bakehouse's best: chocolate cream pie and coconut cream pie. We’ll also demonstrate our popular key lime pie. Since it’s baked it’s not really a “cream” pie, but it’s definitely creamy and delicious.

In this class, you'll learn how to make a buttery and flaky pie crust from scratch (no shortening allowed!), how to roll and bake the crust, and how to make the chocolate cream pie filling and coconut cream pie filling from scratch. For the key lime pie demonstration, we'll show you how to make a buttery graham cracker crust, and the rich, tart filling. We'll also demonstrate fresh whipped cream to top the pies.

At Zingerman’s Bakehouse we bake bagels as they were a long time ago—crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, with big flavor, and a hole you can stick your finger through. Let us teach you to make a great bagel in your own home. You'll mix your dough from scratch, knead it by hand, shape it into rings, then boil and bake your bagels to get just the right texture. You'll choose your seeds too. We'll also show you traditional bialys, a crispy, chewy roll with a center of slow-roasted onions and poppy seeds. In class, we'll snack on some bagels along with fresh cream cheese from our neighbor Zingerman's Creamery. This class will give you a great go-to recipe. Who wouldn't be impressed waking up to freshly baked bagels? After all, better bagels could make for better weekends!

A great class for beginning bakers. Learn the keys to flaky and tender scones, such as how to properly cut the butter into the flour. You’ll make three varieties of Bakehouse buttery scones—sweet crystallized ginger, savory cheddar herb, and flavorful Mother scones, made with freshly milled organic einkorn, which is known as "the mother of all wheat." Scones are simple to make and really delicious fresh out of your oven at home, so these recipes will surely become some of your favorites to reach for!

Happy Mardi Gras! Learn the quintessential Mardi Gras centerpiece dessert, two ways. First, the original and elegant French version made with puff pastry and almond paste.
